Larry Schack won the fall, 2002, vote for re-election to his
position as a
judge in the 19th Judicial Circuit's Family Division in St.
Lucie County.
Judge Schack got to meet his supporters, collegues from the
Treasure Coast legal community, and the public at a
Meet-The-Candidate party hosted by personal injury attorney,
Lauri J. Goldstein.
Speaking to the group assembled in a large, well-appointed party
tent at Attorney's Goldstein's Stuart office complex, Judge
Schack said: "Circuit Court races are not particularly
exciting. Yet, they are very important to the community."
His Honor told the large crowd present that his background is
varied, including having worked in a discount store, worked as a
waiter, earning an undergraduate degree in biology, service as
an
assistant state attorney, admission to the bar in 1980 and, of
course, current service as a Circuit Court judge.
Judge Schack spoke frankly, saying that his time on the bench
has involved "making difficult and sometimes unpleasant
decisions," but, he added, "I have always made them according to
the law." The jurist went on to say, "I ask you to compare the
specifics of my experience as compared with that of my opponent."

The party was a lively one and, even though rain threatened as
thick, dark thunderclouds formed overhead, there was no
problem. A very few rain drops fell and then the sky began to
clear. There was ample and interesting food for all the guests
at the catered party, and live entertainment by a talented band
called "Rocket."

Moving about, meeting his friends and colleagues, Judge Schack
answered questions and received well-wishes during the evening.
And, there were frequent comments from the crowd that Attorney
Goldstein really knows how to throw a party!

The food was great and there was wonderful
entertainment provided by "Rocket" -- a well-known local band.
(Was that Doctor Jeffery Penner at the drums!?
Yes...and what
rhythm!!)
In conclusion, Judge Schack said, "this election will be decided
on the basis of primary votes on September 10th," and he then
thanked Lauri Goldstein and all those who came out to meet him
and support his campaign.
